Introduction

Terms and conditions ensure Members understand their contractual rights and obligations. They set important boundaries that must be upheld. The Following documents outlines the Terms and Conditions set by Planet Fitness pertaining to Memberships and offerings by Planet Fitness or Partners.
In the event of any dispute arising between you and Planet Fitness for the Sale of goods and services, you agree that the sale occurs in the region of the gym you are joining and you hereby consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa notwithstanding that the quantum in the action or proceedings may otherwise fall below the monetary jurisdiction of that court.
Nothing in the Terms and Conditions limits your right to approach any court, tribunal or forum of competent jurisdiction in terms of the CPA.

Black Friday Vitality T's & C's

Free dependant membership will automatically be terminated at the age of 18 years.

Only available to immediate family / dependants and proof of relation needs to be presented upon adding
Main members are solely responsible for their dependants entering the Clubs
Maximum of 4 (Four) free dependants may be added to main membership
The dependant agrees to obey all Rules and Regulations as established by the Management of the Club.
Parent indemnifies Planet Fitness on behalf of Minors.

Student Membership

R150 Access Tag fee and Joining fees to be paid at Point of Sale/Reception.
Promotional discount only applicable to the first two months
Only available to members between the ages of 16 – 25 years
Proof of identification (Birth Certificate/ ID / Passport) needs to be presented upon joining.
Proof of Tertiary education may be requested upon joining. Only accredited institutions will be accepted.

Members agrees to obey all Rules and Regulations as established by the Management of the Club.

New Medical Aid Memberships - Free Beach Towel

Planet Fitness membership agreement terms and conditions apply.
Promotional period: 1-24 November 2024.
Only verified new medical aid memberships qualify for the free beach towel.
The towel will only be issued after payment of the tag fee and activation fees (Vitality & Reality).
The tag fee is non-refundable if the membership is cancelled within the 5-day cooling-off period.
This offer is not available to existing members.
Former members with outstanding arrears do not qualify.
Offer valid while stocks last.

Benefit Swop

Kickstart

This benefit is only applicable to selected club only
To qualify for promotional items,
- complete 8 training sessions in 8 weeks and receive a sweat towel
- complete 16 training sessions in 8 weeks and receive a tog bag
- complete 24 training sessions in 8 weeks and receive a sweat towel and tog bag
Qualifying members may only claim 1 (one) prize per membership
Only 1 session per day will be recorded as a visit
Offer only valid to first time members
Free memberships, such as Dependants, Teachers, Influencers and Ambassadors are excluded from this offer
Only valid to main members over the age of 13
Only valid for memberships 12- months or longer

Buddy Tag

The Buddy tag benefit can be added at any time during the membership duration at an additional monthly fee
Only available to members over the ages of 18years
Not valid for inactive Main members or memberships in arrears
Only 1 (one) Buddy tag guest may access with Main member at a time
Buddy Tag guest may not access the facility without being accompanied by the Main member
Main members are solely responsible for their Buddy tag guest entering the Clubs
The member and Buddy tag guest agrees to obey all Rules and Regulations as established by the Management of the Club.

Towel Service

The Complimentary towel service benefit can be added at any time during the membership duration at an additional monthly fee
Not valid for inactive Main members or memberships in arrears
This benefit is only applicable to selected club only
Members are only permitted 1(one) sweat towel and 1(one) bath towel per access.
All complimentary towels remain the property of Planet Fitness and may not be removed from the facility.

Guest access

Guests over 18 years old are required to sign the Guest Register/Indemnity before accessing the club and on each visit to the club.
Guests under 18 years old are required to have the Guest Register/Indemnity signed by parent(s)/legal guardian(s) before accessing the club and on each visit to the club.
Rules and Regulations as established by the Management of the Club must be observed by all Guests
Buddy Tag Guest may be a non-member and may only access the club when accompanied by the member.
Members are solely responsible for property and valuables of their guests and invitees entering the Clubs.

PNP Smart Shopper

Joining fee & tag fee applies upon joining.
An active Pick n Pay Smart Shopper card number is required at joining.
Only active Pick n Pay Smart Shopper cards will be validated.
Visit points will only be allocated to active Pick n Pay Smart Shopper cards.
Visit points will not be allocated if your monthly gym membership fee debit order is retuned as unpaid.
1000 Pick n Pay Smart Shopper Points will only be allocated to new membership joins.
100 Pick n Pay Smart Shopper Points will be allocated up to a maximum of 20 visits per month and only one visit a day will be considered.
Visit points is not valid for existing, active or previous members with arrears.
Visit points cannot be exchanged for cash or as payment against your gym membership fees.
Benefit cannot be used in conjunction with any other partner, discounted or promotional offer.
Valid ID / Passport to be presented upon joining.

Edgar's club

Planet Fitness membership agreement terms and conditions apply.
Joining fee & tag fee applies upon joining.
An Edgars gym Benefit is offered on a 12- or 24-Months Local membership.
An active Edgars Club Card main holder is the only member that qualifies for the discounted gym benefit at Planet Fitness.
An active Edgars Club membership and timeous payments are required for the full period of subscription to this offer.
Should you fail to make your payments for your Edgars Club membership timeously, or your Edgars Club membership is made inactive by Edgars Club for whatever reason, your gym membership fees will revert to full price at the next available date.
Should any two Edgars Club membership fee payments fail in a rolling 12-month period, your eligibility for the discounted gym benefit will be terminated and your Planet Fitness membership fees will revert to the full retail price of the club you have joined.
Should any two monthly gym membership fee payments in a six-month period be dishonoured by non-payment you will no longer be eligible for this benefit and your gym fees will revert to the retail rate for the club you have joined.
Upgrades – Should you upgrade your Edgars club membership, the applicable discount for your membership tier will become effective at the next calendar month.
Downgrades – Should you downgrade your Edgars Club membership, the applicable discount for your membership tier will become effective at the next calendar month.
Edgars Club reserves the right to introduce visitation bands to this benefit.
The benefit cannot be used in conjunction with Planet Fitness Benefit partners, special offers or promotions.

Partner Benefit Open Day – Terms & Conditions

Guest Access

Access is valid for a specified period only.
The purpose of the Partner Benefit Open Day is to familiarise the guest with Planet Fitness facilities, memberships, and fees, and that the guest consents to have these aspects explained.
It is required that all guests provide andproof of Partner Benefit membership, as well as, a copy of ID / driver’s licence / passport to ensure their compliance with terms thereof and be over 18 years old unless accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
The guest warrants that he / she is in good physical condition and has no disability, impairment or ailment which would be adversely affected by participation in a physical conditioning programme or by the use of the Club’s facilities or services.
Guests shall participate in a physical conditioning programme and/or use any Club’s facilities, services or equipment at their own risk.
Planet Fitness, its Benefit Partners, affiliates, agents or employees, shall not be liable for the loss, theft or damage to the personal property of the guest. The guest agrees to the Rules and Regulations established by Planet Fitness of its members.
This access benefit cannot be exchanged for cash.

Rules and Regulations

The guest agrees to obey all Rules and Regulations as established by the Management of the Club.
These Rules and Regulations may be amended from time to time and may be verbally communicated or contained on signage posted within the Club.
All Rules and Regulations are available upon request and the guest confirms that he / she is fully conversant with them and undertakes to abide by them at all times.
All guests must provide a copy of their ID / Driver’s Licence / Passport.
Trial memberships will only be valid during normal operating hours.

Limitations and Liabilities

I agree and acknowledge that Planet Fitness and the affiliated Partner Benefit will not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage suffered by me and/or the member(s) through or contributed to by any cause whatsoever including but not limited to any negligent (including gross negligence) act and/or omission or breach of contract on the part of Planet Fitness, its directors, employees, contractors, independent consultants or other member(s).
I agree and acknowledge that I enter upon and exit the premises (inclusive of parking areas) and use the equipment and facilities entirely at my own risk.
In addition, I agree that Planet Fitness and the Partner Benefit shall not be vicariously liable for any loss or damage suffered by me and/or other members as a result of them on the part of its employees, independents contractors, consultants, or other member(s).
I and/or my estate hereby indemnify Planet Fitness and the Partner Benefit against any claim by any person arising directly or indirectly from my death, injury, loss or damage suffered, allegedly caused or contributed to by an act or omission by Planet Fitness, its directors, employees, contractors, consultants and agents.

New members

Annual levy fee

An Annual maintenance levy fee is payable by you to us every year and will be payable from when the agreement came into effect and will occur on the month as depicted below and will continue for as long as the membership remains in force.
Only exclusions are Student/Pensioner memberships as well as JustGym membership signed after September 2015.
If you join between November and April, you will pay an Annual levy in July and it will be collected on the same day as your monthly debit order.
If you join between May and October, you will pay an Annual levy in December and it will be collected on the same day as your monthly debit order.
The Annual levy fee is an additional fee that will be due and is not the monthly membership fee but will equal the then applicable monthly membership fee. For example, if the applicable monthly membership fee is equal to R250, then the Annual levy fee will also be R250.
The Annual levy will be used by us in the manner decided upon by us, towards ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to the clubs.
Your annual levy fees will be collected on the debit order day of your choice; however, if such a day falls on a public holiday or Sunday, then at our discretion, these fees will be collected on either the preceding or subsequent business day.

Monthly membership fee increase

Your monthly membership fee will increase annually on your membership anniversary and will continue for as long as the membership remains in force.
The increase will be at CPI (Consumer Price Index) or 10% (ten percent), whichever is higher.
Specified Medical Aid Benefits will increase annually on the First of January regardless of when you join.
We will contact you at least forty (40) business days before you reach the end of your membership fixed term to let you know that your membership fixed term is coming to an end and to let you know of any material changes to this agreement, including any increases to your Monthly Membership Fee.
Unless you notify us in writing that you do not wish to continue as a member, your membership will automatically continue on a month-to-month basis at the increased rate thereafter.
Both parties will have the right to give 1 months’ notice to terminate this agreement.

Your monthly membership fees will be collected on the debit order day of your choice; however, if such a day falls on a public holiday or Sunday, then at our discretion, these fees will be collected on either the preceding or subsequent business day.

Termination of a membership

You can terminate your membership during the Cool Off Period which is 5 business days of the signature date without any penalties and any successful payments made will be refunded after 21 working days
You can terminate your membership after the expiry of the Fixed Term by giving one calendar month’s formal notice to us.
Should you wish to terminate this agreement prior to the expiry of the Fixed Term (before renewal period) you will be liable for an early cancellation penalty.

Refer-a-friend

Member referring T's & C’s

The referral will be required to join on a 12-month or longer membership for the member to qualify for credit.
Credit amount equals 1 month membership fee, excluding Add-on products.
The Credit will automatically be applied 1 month after the referral has joined Planet Fitness or JustGym.
The Primary Member’s contract must be active and not in arrears to qualify for this promotion.
Offer not valid for members on our partner memberships
Offer only valid for current active Planet Fitness or JustGym members.
Maximum three months credit can be applied to a member’s account.
Member will qualify for credit if their referrals have not previously been a member in the last 12 months.
Valid for persons over 18 years of age.
Proof of identification (ID/Driver’s License/Passport) required & must be a South African resident.

As a Planet Fitness member, visit a Workspace branch closest to you, show your Planet Fitness Tag and get 10% off, or you can qualify for 15% on all fully serviced offices.
Simply find a Workspace branch near you and inquire if a serviced office is available in the size you require.
All packages are available on flexible terms.
Discount available to all Planet Fitness members.
Planet Fitness tag must be shown as verification.
Spaces must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
