- I am too busy – Physiologically this is a great hurdle, but we are never too busy to eat, go shopping, go out with friends or laze around. We only realize that it’s important to exercise if we have been diagnosed with conditions like high cholesterol, diabetes, etc and then we are forced to do some sort of exercise which shouldn’t be the case.
- No routine – So what’s it going to be? Exercise in the morning? Exercise in the evening? This is a decision based on individual lifestyle and will have an impact on exercising daily to develop a routine – Yes!!
- No goal – So you get to the gym, now what? Not sure what to do? It’s important to know what to do, whether it’s exercising on your own or taking up a class. Cardio or Conditioning? But the most important factor to reach your goal is to do what you enjoy doing to achieve this goal.
- Aggressive Diet – No! No! No! We all know by now these just don’t work. Make eating healthily and a part of your Lifestyle AND start today!
- I am so tired – If exercising in the evenings, always ensure your gym bag is packed and placed in the car. Going home to change, aahh just forget about it!
- No motivation – You need somebody. No training on your own. Get a partner … or a personal trainer … or join a class.
- I feel intimidated – If you are unsure what to do, always consult a fitness professional to help you get started, on the right track and build your confidence.
- I get bored doing the same thing – This so should not be the case! Remember what I said in point 3, enjoy what you do and this so goes with everything you do in life, so why not when you exercise? Different exercises daily from cardio to conditioning will keep you motivated and help reach your goal.
- I don’t see results – You crawled, before you walked, right? Start exercising today and your body will change – same result.
- Ignorance is bliss – Be patient, don’t force this process, it takes time to get into a good “habit” and make exercise and healthy eating part of a lifestyle.
