Planet Fitness is a significant force in the South African Health Club industry!

Planet Fitness was launched in October 1995 with the uncompromising vision of becoming the preferred health club group in South Africa. Since then, we have enjoyed a sustained period of vibrant growth.

We currently have 24 health clubs located in the Western Cape and Gauteng with plans in place to roll out to Kwa-Zulu Natal. And we are very proud of Planet Fitness Platinum that launched in the heart of Sandton in November 2008. We have no doubt that our market share will continue to grow in the future. In fact, Planet Fitness is currently in the process of an exciting national rollout, which will eventually culminate in 40 world-class fitness centres - to be established in all major growth areas of South Africa.

Planet Fitness also feature an advanced weights section, free weights and a complete cardio section with computerised running, cycling, step and rowing machines. Indoor heated swimming pools and squash courts are also features.

Lifestyle Sections encompass group training (aerobic and fitness) classes, beginner's classes and programmes, virtual reality indoor cycling, aqua aerobics and all the latest trends in Group Training. Some of the classes featured at Planet Fitness include Powerbox (with punching bags), Aqua-Tai-Chi, Fitball, Pilates and the latest in Group Training, Bosu.

Change rooms boast locker room attendants, steam rooms, saunas and immaculate showers (facilities may vary from Club to Club).

In addition to all the health and wellness offerings, parents can train in peace, knowing that their children are well catered for in Planet Kids, our supervised childcare facilities.

We ensure that from the moment members walk through our doors, their every need is taken care of and that every training experience will exceed their expectations. Our Wanderers Mega Club is open 24/7. We are also the only health club in South Africa that is Proudly South African.

Training programmes offered: Skills and development training in-house. All new staff members go through a 5-day induction course before interacting with the public.

Empowerment initiatives: Planet Fitness is working towards Employment Equity Ratio of 50/50 across all levels of the organisation. We currently are leaning towards a 60/40 split depending on location of the clubs.
